RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client are seeking a Manufacturing Change Engineer to join a successful engineering company who will manage the process of altering existing manufacturing systems to improve efficiency, product quality and safety. This role involves designing and implementing new processes, equipment and technologies.
Qualifications
* Qualified to degree level BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field with 1+ years experience in engineering change in a manufacturing environment.
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
* Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical, Electrics/Electronics, Assembly work, Hydraulics, Assembly Instructions and Safe working practices.
* Ability to work on own initiative, to come up with solutions and problem solve.
* Ability to Review Mechanical and Technical Drawings to support engineering.
* Agility and personal adaptability with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment.
* Experience in using ERP systems.
* Some Experience with CAD would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
* Continuously improve the application of 6S, Kaizen, going to Gemba to increase safety and performance.
* Responsible for the implementation of Engineering Change Orders or New Product Development into the manufacturing environment, including new part configuration and set-up, management of open production orders, manufacturing routing and master data management and assembly instruction updates.
* Develop Standard Operating Procedures within the A.I‘s that encompass safe working practices.
* Promote Leader Standard Work systems of audit and daily management to sustain improvements in safety.
* Process improvement skills including the use of Lean tools to drive increased manufacturing quality performance.
* Develop daily improvement processes through Lean Daily Management Structures.
* Move the company towards digital instructions and move away from paper-based processes.
* Work with the Design Engineering Process change owner to ensure the best effectivity dates are achieved to limit obsolete stock.
* Work with the sourcing team to update and maintain the use of PFEP (Plan For Every Part) to establish inventory amounts, locations and replenishments.
* Establish processes that utilise Just In Time (JIT) reducing work in progress.
* Analyse, model and simulate production-based big data from sensors and devices to support development on our Manufacturing Excellence Systems (MES).
* Use of digital devices (e.g. tablets, smartphones, smartwatches) for production monitoring and control.
* Continuously work with site leadership and value stream managers to analyse data to establish opportunities for improvement.
* Review delivery performance with Value Stream Managers and Site Leadership to identify and deliver improvement using continuous improvement tools.
* Use kaizen events to continually improve delivery performance with tangible results.
* Act on engineering change orders in a timely fashion ensuring the changes are implemented with zero impact to production.
* Monitor data integrity within the ERP system, actively looking for errors and amending any setup errors.
* Promote a Continuous Learning environment through development and delivery of all intellectual property.
* Promote a culture of employee engagement with the use of Kaizen to engage teams.
