We have several long-standing clients providing repeat business and we have experienced significant growth in the past 5 years, we are looking to appoint a Cable Pulling PICW based out of our Ashbourne Depot in Meath. This is a fantastic opportunity for a cable pulling operative or already established PICW to join an exceptional business.The RoleThe Cable Pulling PICW role reporting to the Contracts Manager will be based out of our Ashbourne Depot, Meath with travel to sites across Dublin, Meath and Kildare. The Cable Pulling PICW will be responsible for a dedicated cable pulling crew operating in the region and will be responsible for safe delivery of all cable pulling operations. As a Cable Pulling PICW you are required to have an in depth knowledge and understanding of all cable pulling operations including an exceptional knowledge of underground electrical networks, this should underpin an understanding of the requirements and needs of our extremely successful business unit. The role will involve an initial assessment of cable pulling assigned jobs, planning the works including identifying any traffic management requirements, scheduling the crew and pulling of the cable runs identified. The duties of the Cable Pulling PICW include: •Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements for every cable pulling operation.•Initial survey of allocated jobs to determine safety, resource, traffic management and supervision arrangements required. •Arrange for all cable required on project drawings and specifications is delivered to the site location as and when required.•Ensure the sustainability procurement policy of the business is adhered to at all times.•Agreeing delivery times to meet the project or framework timelines.•Responsible for setting up all resources and pulling of underground cables MV and LV.•Keeping detailed records and maintaining well‐organised work schedules.•Assessing the reliability of sub‐contractors and suppliers.•Dealing effectively with challenges within the cable pulling crew.•Providing instruction to the cable pulling crew and upward liaison with the Contracts Manager.•Liaising closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure schedules are received in a timely manner to plan the cable pulling activities.•Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable sequence cable pulling works advance.•Complete all training modules as identified by the company which can be both external and internal courses.Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications•Excellent knowledge of safety, quality and team leadership.•Demonstrated general management skills.•Exceptional knowledge of the electrical network including HV, MV and LV.•Good communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to train and mentor new members to the team.•Experience in the operation of cable winches and cable drums.•An excellent understanding of the utilities business.•Enjoys the requirement to work in the outdoor environment.•Ability to work independently.•Minimum 5 year's experience in a similar role.•Required: -Safepass-Manual Handling-Full Clean Driving licence(including BE trailer licence)•CSCS tickets required but not essential: -Sign, Lighting & Guarding at Roadworks(SLG)-Location of Underground Services(LUGS)Opportunities•Team building and leadership.•Well established procedures developed and ready to implement.•Opportunity to join an established business in the region.•Communicating and building the company culture and values.•Contribute to a dynamic management team.•Self-development.
