Role Overview:
This position involves facilitating the booking and management of public patients for procedures, referred through various channels. The successful candidate will provide an efficient administration service, focusing on patient care and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* To manage a range of administrative duties, including retrieving and sorting referrals, discharging patients, and sending discharge summaries to GPs and referring hospitals.
* Organizing and filing patient charts, scheduling outpatient clinics, and running reports as requested by senior management.
* Coordinating with consultants, theatre bookings, staff, and managers, and liaising with hospital departments and external clients, primarily patients, secretaries, consultants, and general practitioners.
* Supporting colleagues and working closely within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Effective time management skills and ability to handle multiple concurrent deadlines.
* Ability to adapt quickly, learn new skills, data systems, and procedures.
* Proficiency in IT and experience with word and excel.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role in a healthcare setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent telephone and customer service skills.
