The Data Center Global Services team seeks a Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS) to manage building automation systems in Amazon data centers within the EMEA region. Our Controls Engineers have backgrounds in project/construction management, mechanical, electrical, or technology fields. They handle sophisticated controls platforms, aligning building controls with business objectives. They work independently and in teams to develop, support, and evaluate products.
Controls Engineers deploy and maintain BMS (Building Management System) & EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) across data centers, coordinating with AWS DCEO teams to implement upgrades and ensure system resiliency.
Key responsibilities include:
* Understanding customer needs to develop project scope and specifications.
* Managing scopes of work based on site specifics and customer needs.
* Interpreting specifications and applying them in work environments.
* Developing control panel BOMs and ISA data sheets for various instruments.
* Creating drawings for control panels, power distribution, and schematics.
* Developing logic diagrams for complex systems.
* Preparing cable routing plans and schedules.
* Performing inspections, testing, and commissioning.
* Providing technical support to internal customers.
* Coordinating project work internally and externally to ensure timely, within-budget completion.
* Traveling domestically and internationally as needed.
A typical day involves deployment activities, on-site management, vendor coordination, and ensuring quality and timeliness.

Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or related fields, with experience in BMS or EPMS controls, electrical diagrams, and building operations. Leadership experience, specific product knowledge (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric), and certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) are preferred.
