Job Description:
Serving as the focal point for Data Risk oversight at TDGF, this role is responsible for providing guidance and ensuring alignment with TD Bank Group programs, policies, and standards.
The successful candidate will report directly to the VP Data Risk Management and be accountable for driving strategic initiatives related to data risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Risk Framework Development: Establish and maintain robust Data Risk Management frameworks and policies for TDGF, incorporating Risk Appetite measures to ensure effective oversight.
2. Strategic Roadmap Implementation: Embed a Data Risk Management roadmap that fosters second-line oversight, including relevant metrics and key indicators to gauge progress.
3. Emerging Risks Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze emerging Data Risks and trends, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic decisions.
4. Compliance and Regulatory Expertise: Drive forward initiatives to build compliance with Data Risk Management regulations, standards, and guidelines applicable to European banking institutions.
5. Risk Assessments and Reviews: Conduct comprehensive reviews of Data Risk assessments across the organization, providing an effective challenge to identify potential risks and opportunities for growth.
6. Project Delivery: Apply a project delivery mindset to execute on various initiatives, including the EU Banking Licence application project, and deliverables related to Data Risk.
7. Industry Best Practices: Stay updated on Data Risk developments, regulations, and industry best practices, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to stay ahead in the market.
8. Regulatory Reporting: Support the development and delivery of Regulatory, Board, and Risk Reporting submissions, working closely with Operational Risk Management, committee secretaries, and senior leaders.
9. Research Projects: Conduct internal and external research projects to further enhance data risk management capabilities.
10. Culture of Risk Management: Foster a culture of risk management and control within the organization, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 8 years' experience leading complex business/data/technology initiatives within and across multiple businesses.
* In-depth understanding of data governance best practices and industry trends.
* Experience with creating and overseeing Board, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting.
* Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and facilitate discussions to build consensus among stakeholders.
* Creative and analytical thinking skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with constant change and stringent timelines.
* High tolerance for pressure and strong organizational and prioritization skills.
* Prior experience in roles with regional mandates is an asset.
* Experience with enterprise-wide initiatives is preferred.
* Collaboration with Senior Executives, regulators, and regional stakeholders is preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* College or University degree and/or equivalent work experience in the financial services industry.
