Role Summary
The
Quality Manager
will take ownership of Quality Assurance across Crown projects, ensuring that all works are delivered in line with approved standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.
This role is ideally suited to an
experienced Project Manager within the roofing and cladding industry seeking a change
, bringing strong site knowledge, programme awareness, and commercial understanding into a quality-focused leadership position.
Working closely with Senior Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and Site Management teams, the Quality Manager will lead the implementation of QA procedures on site, manage QA documentation through
Procore
, and ensure consistent quality standards across projects in
Europe
.
Key Responsibilities
* Take overall responsibility for
Quality Assurance systems and procedures
across assigned projects.
* Ensure QA processes are implemented consistently by Site Management teams and subcontractors.
* Develop, implement, and maintain
Quality Assurance Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and inspection regimes
.
* Ensure all QA documentation is accurately completed, reviewed, and stored within
Procore QA folders
.
* Review and maintain site-specific
risk assessments and method statements
in collaboration with Project and H&S teams.
* Liaise with the H&S Manager to ensure QA and Health & Safety standards are fully aligned.
* Support Senior Project Managers with programme inputs, including
histograms and programme tracking
, where required.
* Attend site coordination and progress meetings with Main Contractors and Clients as necessary.
* Liaise with Contracts Managers to maintain a clear understanding of the
Bill of Quantities and commercial drivers
of each project.
* Monitor quality-related costs, rework risks, and compliance issues, escalating concerns where required.
* Assist in identifying variations related to quality, defects, or scope changes to support timely commercial claims.
* Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials meet specification and are quality-checked prior to installation.
* Maintain strong working relationships with site operatives, subcontractors, Main Contractors, and Clients.
* Promote a proactive
quality culture
across all projects, leading by example.
* Protect Crown's contractual position through accurate records, including
site inspections, reports, and photographic evidence
.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
* The role may involve
travel and unsocial working hours
.
Person Specification
* Construction-related degree or equivalent (Construction Science or Engineering preferred).
* Minimum
3 years' experience
in a
project management role within the roofing and cladding / building envelope sector
.
* Background as a Project Manager or Site Manager within roofing, cladding, or façade works.
* Strong technical knowledge of roofing, cladding, and façade construction methods, including quality and safety standards.
* Proven ability to read and interpret
roofing and construction drawings and specifications
.
* Experience developing and implementing
QA systems on live construction projects
.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with site teams, subcontractors, and clients.
* High IT proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
Microsoft Project advantageous
.
* Experience using
Procore
or similar construction management systems is highly desirable.
* Full, current driving licence.
* Fluent English, both written and verbal.
* Willing and available to work on projects across Europe, including rotational site commitments.
