Operational Events ManagerSlane Castle Estate, Co. MeathSlane Castle is one of Ireland's most iconic heritage and live event venues, hosting internationally renowned concerts, festivals, weddings as well as private and corporate events. We are seeking an exceptional Operational Events Manager to lead the on-site delivery of events across the Estate.This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of one of Ireland's most dynamic event operations.The RoleThe Operational Events Manager is responsible for turning plans into reality. You will lead the physical and people-driven delivery of events, ensuring that every concert, wedding, festival, corporate or private event is safe, well-run, professionally delivered and financially controlled.Working closely with our Sales, Hospitality and Site teams as well as 3rd party promoter and production teams, you will own the operational execution from load-in through to load-out.This role suits someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has experience with running live music events and who loves being in the thick of it on the day, and knows how to lead teams under pressure.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent OperationsLead the full operational delivery of all events on site including live music in the Courtyard, small festivals, weddings, private and corporate eventsProduce and manage detailed event operations plans, site plans and schedulesCoordinate load-in, build, show days and de-rig across multiple venuesLiaise with all third party promoters running events on the Estate, report findings, discuss actions and consult on key decisions with senior management.Act as the on-site lead during large events, resolving issues in real timePeople & Team LeadershipManage event co-ordinators and supervisors, on-site teams or external contractorsEnsure teams are properly briefed, trained and supportedCreate clear chains of command and communication prior to and on event daysMaintain professional standards, health & safety and performance expectationsHealth, Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all licensing, fire safety, crowd safety and event safety plansBook and administer event team training in manual handling, first aid, silver service and other competenciesWork with Gardaí, security, medics, fire officers and local authoritiesConduct risk assessments, method statements and safety briefingsMaintain incident logs and post-event reportingSite & InfrastructureOversee temporary structures, staging, marquees, fencing, power, water, waste and traffic flowProtect the heritage site, grounds and infrastructureCoordinate cleaning, waste, recycling and restoration after eventsCommercial & Cost ControlControl event-day labour, suppliers and operational spendApprove overtime, call-ins and contractor hoursSupport post-event financial reconciliation and reportingPlanning & Continuous ImprovementAttend event planning meetings with Sales, Production and ManagementCarry out post-event debriefs and implement improvementsDevelop standard operating procedures for recurring eventsWhat We're Looking ForEssentialProven experience managing live events, festivals or venue operationsStrong leadership and people-management skillsExcellent understanding of event health & safety, crowd management and complianceCompetence in Microsoft Office as well as Hospitality and Event Booking SystemsCalm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressureFlexible availability including some nights, weekends and peak event periodsExperience in building and training dynamic event teamsDesirableExperience working on heritage or outdoor sitesKnowledge of Irish licensing, event safety and local authority processesKnowledge of CRMs, CAD and other event planning softwareBackground in concerts, festivals or large hospitality operationsWhy Join the Slane Castle EstateYou will work at one of Europe's most famous live event venues, with a calendar that includes world-class concerts, a diverse range of weddings and corporate events as well as some small but growing niche festivals.
