Overview
Genesys is seeking an experienced Senior IT Engineer to take a lead role in supporting and enhancing our enterprise IAM systems. This person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IAM solutions, with a strong emphasis on Okta, Ping Identity, and Active Directory. The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering secure, scalable identity solutions and mentoring junior staff.
Please note: This role includes access to EU Sovereign Cloud‑controlled systems; access is restricted to personnel who meet EU Sovereign Cloud eligibility requirements (EU citizen or equivalent).
Location: For this position, we are open to candidates who wish to work hybrid from our office in Galway city, or virtual within Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and optimization of IAM systems, including SSO and IGA, using Okta and Ping Identity.
Manage and improve authentication and authorization services across the organization.
Experience with Active Directory and Entra to manage user accounts and access.
Drive implementation of joiner, mover, leaver (JML) processes, RBAC, and access certification.
Oversee and execute complex IAM projects including upgrades, new integrations, and automation.
Conduct periodic audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk reviews in line with compliance obligations.
Act as an escalation point for identity‑related technical challenges.
Develop robust IAM policies, documentation, and process guides.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in security, infrastructure, and HR to implement IAM best practices.
Qualifications
Requires a relevant degree (NFQ Level 8 or higher) and typically 3–5 years of professional experience, or equivalent practical experience.
3–5 years of hands‑on experience with IAM solutions, especially Okta and Ping Identity.
3+ years of hands‑on experience with Active Directory.
Expertise in identity protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect) and directory services (AD, LDAP).
Proven experience leading IAM projects and guiding junior team members.
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO27001, SOX, GDPR).
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously and across international teams.
This role may occasionally require flexibility in working hours, including attending meetings outside standard business hours or providing on‑call support when necessary.
