Job Overview:
Calibration Technician
A skilled Calibration Technician is required to perform a variety of calibration tasks for process, laboratory, and facility equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of our instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled calibrations and verifications of equipment.
* Conduct field and bench calibrations; update calibration records.
* Investigate out-of-tolerance events, support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Maintain traceability to national/international standards and manage reference standards; coordinate third-party calibrations.
* Support installation, commissioning and validation of new instruments and process equipment.
* Liaise with Quality Assurance, Production and Maintenance teams to schedule calibrations with minimal downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* National Diploma or equivalent in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 7+ years in calibration, instrumentation, or metrology; experience in regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
Strong practical experience performing field and bench calibrations on process, laboratory, and facility instruments. Solid understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and traceability to national/international standards (e.g., NIST). Competency with calibration management systems (CMMS) and MS Office (Excel, Word). Familiarity with GMP/cGMP requirements and controlled documentation practices. Working knowledge of process and laboratory instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, level, pH/DO probes, balances, multimeters, HVAC/environmental sensors, data loggers, and sterilisation indicators. Ability to perform root cause analysis for out-of-tolerance events, troubleshoot issues, and apply analytical problem-solving skills. Accurate record-keeping skills, attention to detail, and high standards for data integrity. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Desirable skills include PLC/HMI knowledge, calibration/metrology certification, electrical safe isolation training, and basic awareness of instrument commissioning, validation, and qualification activities.
