The Trainee PICP (Person in Charge of Poling) will support the installation, replacement and maintenance of utility poles and associated overhead line infrastructure. This role is designed to train and develop the candidate into a fully authorized PICP, with full responsibility for safe, compliant and efficient poling operations.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with the erection, replacement and removal of wooden utility poles.
* Support overhead line operations.
* Prepare poles, including hardware fitting, alignment and secure installation.
* Operate tools, equipment and machinery under supervision.
* Follow all company, client and statutory safety procedures at all times.
* Report hazards, near misses and safety observations immediately.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and safe worksite before, during and after works.
* Communicate effectively with all team members.
* Complete job documentation and safety forms as required.
* Travel to multiple worksites as scheduled.
What You Need To Have:
* Ability to obtain safety certs eg; Safe Pass, Manual Handling, etc
* Full clean driving licence (Category B).
* Physically able to carry out manual labour and work at heights.
* Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow instructions precisely and work safely at all times.
* Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Flexibility to travel to different locations.
* Reliability, punctuality and a strong safety mindset.
* Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
