Experienced Mechanical Engineer - Project Lead
We are seeking an accomplished Principal Mechanical Engineer to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale projects. As a seasoned professional, you will have extensive experience in managing European data centres and mission-critical projects. Additionally, expertise in process pharmaceutical, healthcare, commercial, labs, and clean rooms would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct large-scale projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and design engineering project services for mechanical installations, systems, equipment, and facilities across various building types.
- Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services purposes.
- Conduct surveys, tests, and dilapidation reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations.
- Ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Provide day-to-day decision-making support on project progress and liaise directly with clients.
- Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
- Oversee the coordination of engineering services and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Take a holistic approach to selecting and applying engineering concepts and solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications such as MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND, plus relevant experience or equivalent.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
- Significant experience in specification design for multiple building types is essential.
- Strong knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation is necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
- Good understanding of BS standards and UK Regulations/Codes.
- Self-motivated individual able to prioritize workload and work to deadlines.
- Support the delivery of projects in accordance with established project management processes.
