Apprentice Service Advisor – Joe Duffy Group – Athlone

Responsibilities
* Serve as the focal points of contact for customers requiring servicing or repair to their vehicles.
* Manage the flow of information between workshop, dealership and customer, delivering excellent service at all times.
* Handle all service telephone and walk‑in enquiries on behalf of the dealership.
* Qualify service needs and diagnose vehicle running problems where appropriate.
* Establish an agreement with the customer about the work to be carried out.
* Calculate workshop capacity and ensure all details are entered into the service workshop loading system.
* Manage handover and administration of customer service vehicles, explain work to customers to ensure understanding and authorisation.
* Coordinate with department manager regarding customer dissatisfaction and follow up in line with dealership procedures.
* Understand and adhere to manufacturer brand service requirements.
* Maintain safe working practices and abide by dealership rules and standards.
* Keep product and system knowledge up to date, ensuring accuracy at all times.

* Proven track record in retail, hospitality or customer services; impeccable appearance and well presented for a corporate environment.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Accurate record keeping of all relevant details.
* Ability to upsell additional work or accessories.
* Capacity to absorb and explain technical data to customers.

This role begins as a trainee with a structured training program suitable for individuals with or without motor experience. The program typically lasts six months or more and covers the Joe Duffy Group process, database management, marketing, customer service and after‑sales operations. During training you will also receive classroom and brand training, mentorship and hands‑on observation of experienced service advisors.
We seek candidates with a strong customer‑service orientation, excellent telesales and retail sales experience. A desire to understand the motor trade is required; motor experience is not mandatory.
A full and valid Irish or EU driving licence and a full‑time work visa/permit are essential requirements.
