About The Irish Heritage Trust: Established in 2006, The Irish Heritage Trust CLG (IHT) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to caring for, protecting, and revitalizing historic houses, gardens, and parklands across Ireland. Our sites include Fota House & Gardens (Cork), Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens (Wexford), and Strokestown Park & the National Famine Museum (Roscommon). Our headquarters are at No. 11 Parnell Square East, Dublin, where ongoing conservation and refurbishment work aims to transform the building into an inclusive cultural center celebrating Irish poetry, heritage, and culture.
Strokestown Park: A unique visitor attraction featuring Strokestown Park House, one of Ireland’s best-preserved Palladian mansions; the National Famine Museum; Walled Gardens & Woodlands; Café and Gift Shop. Managed by the Irish Heritage Trust since 2015, it is a site of significant historical importance, especially as the starting point of the 165km National Famine Way trail from Roscommon to Dublin, which traces the journey of Irish Famine emigrants.
The Role: This key position involves developing and managing the National Famine Way trail, focusing on stakeholder engagement, revenue generation, and marketing strategy execution. The role reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Marketing Manager. It entails project management, brand management, and delivering engagement initiatives, with a requirement for a full clean driver’s license.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement
* Coordinate tasks across teams to meet project goals within schedule and budget.
* Maintain contact with stakeholders from government, private sector, educational institutions, and develop new relationships.
* Represent The National Famine Way at events and networking opportunities.
Communications
* Implement and monitor communication processes.
* Manage the website, social media, and app for the National Famine Way.
* Develop marketing content and oversee PR activities.
* Coordinate events and familiarisation visits.
Other Responsibilities
* Research and apply for grants, manage projects funded by grants.
* Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience managing large projects from inception to completion.
* Minimum 4 years in a busy marketing and sales environment with measurable outcomes.
* Qualifications in business, marketing, or related fields.
* Social media expertise with analytics skills.
* Website management experience.
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
* Full clean driver’s license.
