Job Summary
We are looking to hire a Trade Sanctions / Financial Crime, Senior Compliance Manager to join our Global Legal & Compliance team.
The role will be based in Dublin.

About the Role:
Trade Sanctions Compliance
Lead and maintain the Group-wide Trade Sanctions Compliance Programme, including maintaining and updating sanctions-related policies, procedures, and controls.
Conduct and oversee sanctions risk assessments across business/support units.
Develop and deliver sanctions training programmes tailored to different functions and the various lines of business.
Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments in sanctions regimes.
Responsibility for all Trade Sanctions referrals made based on applicable guidelines and procedures.
Responsibility for the sanctions screening programme, including setting screening parameters in line with risk appetite, handling sanctions escalations, and clearing potential matches.
Liaise with regulators and industry bodies on sanctions-related matters.
Coordinating reporting to external stakeholders (including banks, regulators, etc.) on sanctions-related queries.
Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on applicable AML, other Financial Crime requirements.
Collaborate with local compliance teams to ensure consistent AML standards and practices.
Support local Compliance teams in:
development and delivery of AML training across the Group.
monitoring regulatory developments and ensuring timely updates to AML policies and procedures.
ensuring timely and accurate regulatory reporting and suspicious activity reporting.
overseeing AML risk assessments and ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies.
Governance & Oversight
Represent Financial Crime Compliance matters in governance forums and risk committees.
Prepare and present regular reports and metrics to senior management / subsidiary boards.
Oversee Third-Party compliance with financial crime obligations.
Other Group Compliance responsibilities
There will be opportunities to be involved with other Group Compliance activities and take on additional responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Technical
International Reinsurance or Insurance experience strongly preferred.
Alternatively financial services.
Business facing background.
Proven leadership in managing cross-border compliance, ideally Trade Sanctions programmes.
6+ years minimum working within, or with, financial institutions on Trade Sanctions compliance.
International, cross-jurisdictional reinsurance experience and exposure.
Practical experience with sanctions screening technology.
Ability to interpret legal and compliance obligations arising from different Sanctions regimes requirements (in particular US, UK, EU, UN) and develop appropriate risk-based control requirements.
Practical experience in developing, updating, and implementing Sanctions compliance policies and procedurals across a multi-national organisation, including operationalisation of changes, working collaboratively with business and support functions globally.
Proficiency in conducting compliance risk assessments.
Third Party Management – any practical experience in managing such frameworks and risk assessments is a benefit.
Additional
Solicitor / Common Law qualified Attorney preferred but not essential.
Ambition and capability to be the global subject-matter expert within a global business.
Strong project-management capabilities.
