Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Engineer to join our commercial team in Galway. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, tender documents, contracts, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), specifications, and budgets.
You will perform material take-offs prior to purchase requisitions and report any irregularities or discrepancies to project management.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Preparing and implementing post-contract duties including measurements, final accounts, and evaluation reports
* Preparation of payment applications and agreement with clients
* Working closely with project teams to ensure accurate recording and notification of measurements, variations, and contractual matters
* Evaluating subcontractor works, claims, variations, invoices, and ensuring contractual obligations are satisfied
* Evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quantities and specifications align with tender and project specifications
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering, along with 5+ years of relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to multi-discipline civil/construction projects.
You will be able to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner, possess excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, and have strong English communication capabilities.
