Software Engineer (SRE)
Software Engineer (SRE) Unstructured Data Storage group delivers two core solutions of the Dell AI Platform – PowerScale and ObjectScale, providing AI-ready storage for the world’s most data intensive challenges. We are looking for talented professionals to join our Software Engineering Team and help shape the future of storage. Join us as a Software Engineer on our team in Cork to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.
Responsibilities
Work on all aspects of software development life cycle: planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Collaborate with product owners, architects and other engineers to define and implement technical solutions.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack.
Essential Requirements
Solid programming skills with 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in C, C++, Java or Python.
Good analytical debugging & problem solving skills.
Strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work within a scrum team and collaborate effectively in a global Agile/Scrum environment.
Desirable Requirements
Experience in a performance engineering or SRE role.
Experience in filesystem/ distributed systems.
Familiarity with systems/storage including protocol behaviour (NFS/SMB/S3), networking, kernel/filesystem queues, caching.
Ability to use ML/AI for anomaly detection, pattern matching, RAG over use case history, agent orchestration.
