is recruiting a
DEA Officer
on behalf of a
Key Public Body
.
Working within the Community Directorate, you will be part of a team of seven officers responsible for implementing the "Putting People First" Community Plan.
This is a high-impact role delivered through a District Electoral Area (DEA) approach, focusing on local clusters in the Ballymena, Carrickfergus, and Larne areas.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Agency Coordination:
Actively promote and lead a multi-agency approach to support service delivery at a local level.
Service Delivery:
Assist in the delivery of key portfolios, including the Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP), Good Relations, and Neighbourhood Renewal.
Community Centre Management:
Oversee the operational aspects and care-taking staff of relevant community centres within your DEA.
Action Planning:
Develop and implement DEA Cluster Action Plans that respond to identified local needs and improve community cohesion.
Financial Management:
Manage assigned budgets, monitor expenditure, and authorise the purchase of goods in line with procurement policies.
Public Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the public and elected members, using social and local media to promote positive community outcomes.
The Person
Our Client is looking for candidates who can demonstrate leadership and a strong background in community functions.
Education:
A degree or postgraduate qualification
Experience:
Two years of experience in at least one area of Community Planning, Good Relations, PCSP, or Community Services, including team leadership and partnership working.

Analysing information from various sources to make effective, trust-based decisions.

The Package
Location:
Ballymena
Salary:
£39,862 per annum (£***** per hour) | PAYE | Weekly Pay
without
fail
Contract:
Temporary until 30 September ****, with a possible extension
Hours:
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with requirements for evening and weekend work)
