Job Title: Head of Electrical Design Engineering

Location: Hybrid – Based in Claremorris or Wexford Office

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Work Authorization: Applicants must hold a valid visa or EU/Irish citizenship permitting them to work in Ireland and across Europe.

As we continue to expand our multidisciplinary capabilities, we are seeking a senior leader to head our Electrical Design Engineering function.

Role Overview

As the Head of Electrical Design Engineering, you will lead the strategic and technical direction of the electrical design team. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of high-value, technically complex projects while championing innovation, compliance, and operational excellence. This is a pivotal leadership role that requires strong design expertise, a deep understanding of project lifecycles, and the ability to influence stakeholders across disciplines

Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for all electrical design engineering activities across the business
* Lead the development and standardization of design practices, tools, and templates to drive quality and efficiency
* Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance
* Collaborate with internal project teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of design requirements and deliverables
* Oversee resource planning, team development, and mentoring of junior engineers to build a high-performing design function
* Act as a key contributor during project bidding, client presentations, and design reviews
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and technological advancements

Key Requirements

* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred
* 12+ years’ experience in electrical design engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
* Strong project delivery background in sectors such as pharma, life sciences, or advanced manufacturing
* Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire multidisciplinary teams
* Deep knowledge of Irish and EU electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices
* Strong communication, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills
