Role Overview
The post holder will support, develop, and lead the neuromuscular Occupational Therapy service, providing clinical services to the National Neuromuscular Service (NM). Responsibilities include contributing to the care of children and young people attending NM clinics and admitted to CHI across various sites, including Tallaght, Temple Street, and CRC, with future plans for the new children’s hospital at St James hospital campus. The role involves supporting service integration and planning for the migration of activities to the new site, working closely with inpatient and outpatient teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain clinical and leadership competencies across neuromuscular sites.
* Support the development of the neuromuscular OT service in collaboration with MDTs and service changes.
* Assist in service development and cross-site departmental activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
* Registered as an Occupational Therapist with CORU.
* At least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
* Minimum of 3 years recent experience in paediatric neurology, neuromuscular disorders, or neuro-disability sectors.
* Post-graduate training in seating complex postures and relevant clinical education.
