The successful candidate will join an active, interdisciplinary research team working on the GEMINI project, funded by the PEACEPLUS European programme. The appointed researcher will deliver a dedicated research project involving 3D geological modelling and characterisation of a deep geothermal carbonate system in the Dublin Basin and a siliciclastic system in the Antrim Basin, both of which are of significant interest as heat sources for district heating. The research will integrate a wide range of datasets, including 2D seismic reflection, well data, surface mapping and geophysical data, and will involve 3D geological modelling, structural analysis, sedimentology and petrophysical characterisation.
