Role and Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:
1. Report to the project management team and provide weekly/monthly updates on programme and subcontractors' progress.
2. Manage site staff and all contractors involved in the project.
3. Provide constant interaction and guidance to construction operatives on site.
4. Work closely with and report to your Project Manager and Contracts Manager/Director to meet and exceed business objectives and project strategies.
5. Manage day-to-day activities on-site throughout the project lifecycle, assisting the Project Team to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
6. Ensure SHEQ personnel are involved in all subcontractor appointments and site start-ups.
7. Establish Construction Programmes in collaboration with your Project Manager.
8. Review all drawings and specifications, communicating errors or omissions to the design team promptly.
9. Manage RFIs and Technical Submittals, keeping all registers updated on the Bretland IMS.
10. Determine project resource requirements and motivate the project team.
11. Monitor construction quality, recording workmanship and materials on the Bretland IMS.
12. Propose design changes to improve cost savings, construction efficiency, and quality.
13. Work commercially with the project team, including QS, to meet project objectives.
14. Coordinate with your Project Manager, Site Engineers, and Services Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
15. Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and good building practices.
16. Ensure adherence to local statutory and regulatory obligations.
17. Complete and distribute daily progress reports.
18. Monitor and manage agency labour, hiring only as needed.
19. Check and approve agency timesheets weekly.
20. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, welfare, and office areas daily.
21. Implement onsite health and safety procedures, supporting the H&S officer.
22. Manage all SHEQ aspects on site, ensuring compliance with company standards.
23. Ensure all visitors and workers have completed inductions and provided necessary certifications.
24. Supervise signing in, inductions, permits, toolbox talks, and adherence to risk assessments and method statements.
25. Coordinate with SHEQ Department on RAMS and SPA compliance and approval.
26. Record and investigate accidents/incidents per company procedures.
27. Ensure permits and licenses are obtained before work begins.
28. Document works with progress photos stored on cloud or Procore.
29. Verify all workers have signed latest RAMS and carry SPA documents.
30. Upload SPA’s and permits to Bretland document control system.
31. Plan work logically, considering materials storage, deliveries, plant, traffic, and logistics.
32. Distribute daily site reports to Senior Management via Procore or Bretland system.
33. Ensure all team members work with the latest construction information.
34. Perform timely and accurate setting out, verifying accuracy.
35. Attend progress meetings and provide updates on relevant topics.
