I'm currently partnering with a leading engineering and production organisation to recruit a Team Leader – Technical Support to lead a multi-functional technical team supporting a busy manufacturing operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technical professional who combines strong engineering knowledge with hands-on leadership capability.
The Role
Reporting to the Technical Support Leader, you will be responsible for the daily performance and coordination of the Technical Support Team, including:
Maintenance
Tooling Engineering
Calibration
CAM
You will play a key role in ensuring production is fully supported from a technical perspective, prioritising activities, resolving complex issues, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate day-to-day activities across Maintenance and Tooling Engineering teams
Attend daily production meetings to align and prioritise technical support requirements
Support and guide the Tooling Engineering team, including participation in weekly reviews
Coordinate repair, servicing, and installation of production equipment
Lead technical problem-solving activities within production
Support capital projects including installation and replacement of equipment
Partner with the Technical Support Leader to develop and execute annual maintenance plans
Support NPI activities including delivery of new fixtures and CAM programmes
Provide clear leadership, direction, and feedback to the Technical Support team
Promote a proactive, customer-focused team culture
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Skills
Technical qualification in Engineering or Maintenance
Strong knowledge of maintenance principles and best practice
Very good understanding of CNC / CAD / CAM
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capability
Structured approach to project management
Effective communication and reporting skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering-intensive environment
Previous experience working with Maintenance and/or CNC/CAD/CAM functions
Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges
Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, and prioritise effectively
