Job Summary
* This mechanical engineer position presents an exciting opportunity to lead a successful construction project based in Dublin, Ireland.
Main Responsibilities
1. Oversee site safety in collaboration with the safety advisor to ensure a secure working environment.
2. Establish and manage the safety file as part of the management team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Co-ordinate site quality assurance activities in conjunction with the mechanical package manager to guarantee project excellence.
4. Monitor and control costs associated with your package, maintaining budgetary discipline.
5. Manage material deliveries and goods receipting, plant and equipment, variations and valuations effectively.
6. Direct day-to-day on-site operations, ensuring seamless project execution.
7. Track subcontractor progress against schedule and personnel levels, fostering efficient delivery.
8. Issue direct labour hours and subcontractor hours to time administrator for central tracking.
9. Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings to facilitate effective communication.
10. CLOSE OUT ALL PROJECT ITEMS INCLUDING O & M MANUALS, PUNCH LIST, SAFETY FILE, QA FILE
Requirements
1. A Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant work experience is required.
2. Strong computer skills in Word, Excel etc. are necessary.
3. A proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects is essential.
4. Experience working with a mechanical contractor in the construction sector is highly desirable.
