What you will do
The purpose of the role is to complete servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of HVACR equipment, as well as preventative maintenance of various types of HVACR systems. You will provide up‑to‑date site surveys, records and reports regarding works completed and actions needed to aid quotation of new or replacement equipment.
This is a mobile role on a full‑time basis. As a HVAC Service Engineer you are the primary contact for all technical service issues, accountable for resolving highly complex systems within a set timeframe and in accordance with a defined process, service agreement and customer needs. You will be working mainly with the company’s largest customers predominantly within the Cork area.

Job Description
PE Global are currently recruiting a HVAC Technician with a leading facility management company working on their portfolio of projects in Cork/Munster.
The role requires you to work as part of a mobile team. Our team consists of HVAC, boiler and BMS service technicians. We cover various sectors within the HVAC industry, including data centres, pharmaceutical, commercial and retail establishments. The successful candidate will be required to perform installations, maintenance and repairs on various HVAC equipment, from chilled water plants to air handling units. The client is the agent for Engie Refrigeration, manufacturers of highly advanced and efficient Turbocar chilled water plants.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work as part of our busy mobile team or individually to carry out planned maintenance of HVAC equipment, identifying repairs to be made and completing all relevant reports.
Carry out fault‑finding diagnosis and repairs on HVAC equipment.
Assist in the commissioning and validation of HVAC systems.
Ensure management is informed and kept up to date on the status/completion of work orders.
Work with our design and projects team to complete HVAC installations.
Assist the Mechanical Service Manager in developing quotations for remedial works.
Maintain service vehicle ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working order.
As part of the role, you will be required to join the service team out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
Applicants must demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to adhering to all aspects of the 2005 Health and Safety Act, including the 2007 General Applications and relevant codes of practice.
Additionally, candidates are expected to actively participate in Health and Safety Training sessions and toolbox talks.
Candidates must be prepared to follow job‑specific Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and conduct dynamic risk assessments as necessary.
Requirements
City and Guilds 2079 (Category 1) F‑Gas qualification or equivalent.
Full driver’s licence.
Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and ability to work using safe working practices. Knowledge and ability to complete work permits.
Knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC equipment and systems ranging from split and multi‑air‑conditioning, chilled water plants, DX cooling equipment, fan coil units, air handling units, and ventilation systems. Knowledge of CW/LPHW ring mains and pumps is preferred.
Experience in effectively communicating and collaborating with clients is essential to ensure safe working practices per site requirements.

Have knowledge of BMS and HVAC controls.

Requirements:
Hold a FETAC HVAC / Refrigeration Qualification.
Must be F‑Gas certified.

Be willing to join the on‑call rota (approximately every 6 weeks).

Heating and Air Conditioning Design Engineer
Reporting directly to the Product Engineering Manager
Support the engineering team in the development of a design concept for speciality AHU (air handling unit), IEC (indirect evaporative cooler), DEC (direct evaporative cooler), CDU (cooling distribution units).
Component verification & selection of coils, compressors, fans, dampers, actuators.
Preparing and reviewing technical documentation for these designs including but not limited to installation and maintenance manuals, critical spare parts lists, technical submittals, drawings, component selections, unit datasheets, etc.
Assist the application engineering team in preparing submissions for tender related to the key client and others where necessary, including but not limited to technical review of specification documentation, organisation and compilation of technical responses on behalf of the team in conjunction with design team and key account manager.
Ensure unit designs are in accordance with the approved project specifications.
Coordination with the production team to ensure seamless integration of design into manufacture.
Ensuring consistent quality and design across all projects relating to this customer and their specifications.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in CAD software and 3D modelling software specifically SolidWorks.
A mechanical/HVAC/building services engineering degree or related field.
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in mechanical HVAC design and selection for similar technologies, preferably in a manufacturing application.
Moderate-advanced level Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
Have a positive, pro‑active approach to working in a team environment along with excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience interpreting 2D drawings.
Preferred experience also includes: LEAN training and/or experience of working in a LEAN organisation, experience in mechanical and/or controls design of datacentre air handling units, experience in building services engineering is desirable, experience of using Revit is desirable.
