Community Engagement Officer (Maternity Cover) - Dublin and Surrounding Areas The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and advocating for the rights of people affected by dementia to quality supports and services.

A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core.
The ASI is currently recruiting a Community Engagement Officer for our Community Engagement Service.
This is a hybrid role that will be based in Dublin and surrounding areas such as Louth, Kildare, Wicklow etc. with offices based in National Office, Temple Road, Blackrock, Dublin, A94 N8Y0.
Please note that as per ASI hybrid working policy, the ASI does not support any employee working abroad or from any location outside their set "home office".
This is a purpose-only contract, working 35 hours per week.
The purpose of this contract is to cover the maternity leave of the permanent resource.
The Community Engagement Officer's primary responsibility is to Support the Community Engagement program in all elements of the implementation of the ASI's Community Engagement Strategy.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a community engagement or comparable role working regionally.
A level 6 qualification and or relevant experience in relevant areas such as marketing, Communications, Community Development, event Management is also required.
The successful candidate should have Excellent English and telephone marketing skills, Knowledge and experience of applying for funding and an understanding of dementia and related issues.
The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving license as the role will involve travel across the country.
Salary will be commensurate with the care sector, and dependent on relevant experience.

Identify opportunities to roll out of Community engagement programs across your region recruitment of participants, promotion of the activities etc including Friends Of ASI, TY Programme, etc..
Excellent communication and marketing skills with the ability to engage with community organisations, businesses, individuals etc to build a strong community response Play a key part in the community Engagement team by being a good team player.

Prepare and present presentations as required Assist in the organising of promotional events and traditional or digital campaigns and attend them to facilitate their success To work within ASI policies and procedures Administration .
Each Community engagement Officer will be responsible for the administrative tasks associated with the programmes in their own area Create regular reports and updates to inform the Community Engagement Manager on progress and implementation Conducting market research and analysing participation rating reports/ questionnaires Maintain and ensure CRM is up to date All activity data to be maintained & kept up to date and stored in a confidential manner Keep all files in an orderly manner and up to date in in compliance with GDPR The principal accountabilities outline the main duties.
However, in an organisation such as the Society, it is inevitable that tasks may arise which do not fall within the remit of the above may list of main duties.
Employees are therefore required to respond with a flexible approach when tasks arise which are not specifically covered in their job description.

JOBHOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge (Education & Related Experience): QQI level qualification level 6 award in a relevant field - marketing, Communications, Community Development, event Management.
And/or relevant experience in a similar role Excellent English and telephone marketing skills.
Good planning and organisation skills essential Knowledge and experience of applying for funding grants etc.
Experience in using and designing content for social media channels - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office & CRM WordPress experience is desirable or other website experience.
Experience in marketing and Communications desirable Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and multitasking skills together with a proactive approach are essential Possess a high regard for, and practice, good health and safety procedures at all times Ability to be innovative and creative and to promote an environment for change and continuous improvement An understanding of and empathy towards the impact of Dementia on people's lives.
Experience of project management and Skills (Special Training or Competence): A positive 'can-do' donor/customer-orientated approach to work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Very strong Interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good attention to detail, in particular accuracy in written work.
