What you'll be doing...
As our Senior Director leading Indirect Sourcing, you will be accountable for the development, implementation and overall management of the strategy for indirect goods and services.
You will build a team of professionals based in Ireland, responsible for negotiating and evaluating proposals and achieving Verizon's overall indirect cost management goals.
A key part of this role is collaboration with stakeholders across Verizon, encompassing all categories of indirect spend.
This position requires a proactive leader with strong relationship-building capabilities, analytical and negotiating skills, and a blend of strategic and tactical thinking.
This is a critical role within a high-visibility, dynamic and high-performing team based in Verizon's Limerick office.
Responsibilities: Build and lead a team of category sourcing experts, managing people through development cycles.
Lead and own multi-year global category strategies through partnerships with key stakeholders within the business.
Negotiations with key strategic partners for maximum value outcome and best customer experience, including establishing relationships with the indirect supply base.
Management of a portfolio of partners to line cost budget, including commercial impacts and cost levers.
Ad-hoc analyses to provide insight into trends and foresight on upcoming or proposed actions Oversight and leadership of transformation initiatives to drive better value and process outcomes.
Provide career and professional development to staff and managers Collaborates closely with key business partners to understand their priorities and challenges.
Representing Verizon at industry forums, associations and events Participation in, and development of materials for, Strategic and Operational Reviews with senior executives in the business.
Responsible for managing all personnel-related activities such as: recruitment, compensation planning, performance appraisals, personal development and team planning.
Draft customized development plans to ensure each team member focuses on training, improving skill sets and enhancing the value they deliver to the company.
Some travel may be required to support relationship management with partners.
Support of other Strategic Sourcing related initiatives as required What we're looking for...
You'll need to have: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Procurement or a relevant discipline.
Significant experience in Indirect Sourcing at a senior level.
A proven ability to lead a large team of sourcing professionals delivering transformational initiatives.
Even better if you have: A Master's degree in a related field.
Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and management skills.
A high degree of proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs and Slides).
Broad-based knowledge of the Indirect Sourcing industry.
Experience working within a large, cross-functional culture.
Comfort working across all levels of the organisation-from front-line employees to senior executives.
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking that results in new ideas to drive the business forward.
Diversified experience with an emphasis on negotiation, analysis and relationship management.
A proven ability to influence decision-makers.
The ability to multitask and maintain high attention to detail to ensure deadlines are met.
A proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility.
A track record of handling highly confidential information with discretion.
