SOCIAL CARE WORKERS - Multiple Vacancies
Qualifications and Experience:
1. HETAC Accredited Diploma/Degree in Social Care, Nursing (RNID), or eligibility for CORU registration.
2. Experience managing challenging behavior and working with adults/children with intellectual disabilities.
3. Ability to work independently and supervise staff/residents.
4. Full Driver's License required.
Location: Residential centers in Cork, with rostered 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and weekdays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
5. Resident Care: Attend to daily needs, foster respectful relationships, promote independence, and assist with physical care, daily living, and social skills.
6. Community Integration: Facilitate residents' leisure activities and ensure their engagement in the community.
7. Household Management: Assist with budgeting, cooking, shopping, and maintaining cleanliness, while encouraging resident participation.
8. Medication Administration: Administer and record prescribed medication.
9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the Foundation.
10. Visitor Engagement: Foster a welcoming environment for visitors.
Health & Safety:
11. Proper use of aids/appliances, reporting incidents on Xyea, and ensuring knowledge of emergency procedures.
12. Report faulty equipment and implement fire and safety precautions.
Leadership:
13. Support and develop staff through induction, supervision, and training.
14. Coordinate individual plans for residents and conduct staff supervision meetings.
15. Ensure adherence to policies and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
16. Promote dignity, respect, and advocacy in person-centered care. Handle complaints according to the Foundation's policy.
