Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Scientist R&D at our Dunboyne facility. The role involves working closely with the Enabling Technology and Engineering group to leverage Process Automation knowledge, as well as collaborating with the Analytical group to adopt Process Analytical Technology (PAT). The Microbiology Lab Operations team will coordinate with Operations to understand facility needs and adapt resources accordingly.

This is a shift-based role (4 days on / 4 days off, 7am to 7pm).

Responsibilities

* Support laboratory operations, including equipment qualification (PQ), SOP and work instruction documentation, and contributing to lab and process setup.
* Assist with general lab activities such as equipment testing, method verification, troubleshooting, and laboratory studies.
* Review, trend, and report laboratory data; support batch data generation and analyze quarterly and yearly reports.
* Maintain laboratory stock, ensure proper cleaning of equipment, and uphold housekeeping standards, identifying process improvements.
* Respond to internal and external partner requests and escalate issues as needed.
* Participate in meetings, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and support audits.
* Promote a safety culture within the site.
* Support the introduction of innovative solutions and biologics testing within the facility.
* Develop team skills, promote success, and respect diversity.
* Ensure timely training and coaching of team members.
* Support flexible working hours for exceptional circumstances.

Skills & Qualifications

* Degree in Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field; microbiology background preferred.
* 1-3 years of relevant experience; internships and placements considered.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
* Knowledge of biologics manufacturing and microbiological testing techniques.
* Experience with laboratory systems (LIMS, E-logs, MODA, electronic notebooks).
* Logical thinking and proactive under pressure.
* Understanding of GMP, USP, EP, JP requirements.
