As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Transfer Agency team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
1. Execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technically, with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or analyze technical problems.
2. Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with relevant systems.
3. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met during software development.
4. Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reports from large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
5. Identify hidden problems and patterns in data proactively, and use these insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
6. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
7. Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
1. Formal training or certification in database code development concepts and proficient applied experience.
2. Ability to develop, analyze, and fix complex database code written in Packages/Procedures/Functions and SQL.
3. Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code supporting database-related applications.
4. Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance and efficient data retrieval.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and provide technical support.
6. Knowledge of database designs, normal forms, and Oracle tools.
7. Skills in implementing robust error handling and debugging techniques in PL/SQL.
8. Understanding of database design, normalization, and indexing.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
1. Ability to write shell scripts or use tools like SQL*Plus for automation.
2. Exposure to cloud technologies.
