Windmill Healthcare presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Nursing to oversee our Care Team at Windmill House Care Centre and Retirement Village, located in Churchtown, North Cork. Windmill House is a 40-bed residential facility, with a 42-bed extension due for completion by the end of 2025, and features 10 independent living bungalows.

Responsibilities
* Demonstrate governance and leadership in managing Windmill House Care Centre.
* Ensure high standards of care and service to residents and their families.
* Maintain compliance with HIQA regulations.
* Promote and oversee holistic, person-centred care delivery.
* Lead the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care.
* Communicate effectively with teams, residents, families, and visitors regarding daily operations.
Management
* Fulfill the role of Person-in-Charge according to the Health Act 2007 and HIQA standards.
* Ensure excellence in governance, management, and leadership.
* Manage the team supported by the ADON.
* Facilitate staff training and education.
* Implement and update policies in line with current guidelines.
* Coordinate with external agencies.
* Manage risks, health & safety, IPC, complaints, and incidents per company policy.
* Foster open communication, healthy working relationships, and team initiatives.
* Motivate staff through goal setting and performance reviews.

Requirements
* Qualified Registered Nurse with at least 3 years' recent experience in care of the older person.
* Post-registration management qualification (Level 8) in healthcare or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years' management experience in health and social care.
* Engaged in ongoing professional development.
* Strong knowledge of clinical nursing practices for older persons.
* In-depth understanding of HIQA regulations and compliance.
* Knowledge of HR law, H&S, and legislation relevant to nursing homes.
* Flexibility and adaptability to company needs.
* Good financial awareness.
