Public Affairs & Communications Executive – 18 Month Contract
Cpl Marketing recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Public Affairs & Communications professional to join a public body driving sustainability in Ireland. Working with the Head of Public Affairs and colleagues, the successful candidate will have a varied workload providing professional services and advice to operational teams on matters impacting the organisations programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting and supporting the Head of Public Affairs in the development and implementation of a public affairs and strategic communication plan for the implementation of an EU Directive.
* Leading on the deployment of the public affairs and communication plan.
* Liaising and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
* Foster two-way dialogue with key external stakeholders to build trust and understanding around the implementation of the Directive.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the Corporate Services Directorate to anticipate and manage reputational risks.
* Supporting Head of Public Affairs in Identifying and advising on overall public affairs and strategic communication risks and mitigation measures which align with strategic objectives.
* Supporting public affairs event planning/project management.
* Working with internal stakeholders to ensure Public Affairs activities are compliant with the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies and best practice.
Required Skills and Experience:
* A third level degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science or Public Policy.
* 3+ years’ directly relevant experience working in public affairs, public relations / advocacy, communications, marketing or related area.
* Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive public affairs, stakeholder engagement, communications strategies and plans.
* Excellent communication (both written and oral) including report writing, presenting and public speaking.
* Well-developed IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
