PepsiCo is on the look‑out for a Global Operational Technology Engineer to join our global engineering function. We are the concentrate business in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. Responsibilities
This role will support the delivery, integration and sustainment of Operational Technology systems across PGCS sites globally, with a strong focus on AVEVA‑based platforms and MES‑enabled manufacturing. The position plays a key role in ensuring reliable data exchange between automation and enterprise layers while driving standardisation, cybersecurity compliance and long‑term supportability of OT solutions. Key responsibilities include:
Support the delivery of MES batching projects from an automation and OT integration perspective.
Ensure Digital Factory initiatives have the required automation data points, connectivity and contextualisation to enable reliable MES ↔ Automation communication.
Configure, deploy and sustain AVEVA System Platform, OMI, InTouch and InBatch solutions across multiple sites.
Develop and maintain integration mechanisms between PLCs, System Platform and MES layers, including SQL‑based data handling and validation.
Support global migration, standardisation and template strategy for AVEVA System Platform implementations.
Work closely with system integrators and vendors to ensure solutions align with PGCS OT standards and cybersecurity requirements.
Provide technical governance to ensure projects comply with PepsiCo automation specifications, GAMP principles and industry best practice.
Contribute to OT cybersecurity readiness, including secure architecture, patching strategies and access control alignment with corporate standards.
Support incident management, troubleshooting and lifecycle sustainment of OT platforms across global sites.
Assist in developing and maintaining OT standards, documentation and approved design patterns.
Deliver knowledge transfer and technical training to site teams to ensure successful operational handover.
Engage collaboratively with global stakeholders across Engineering, IT, Digital Factory and Supply Chain functions.
Standardisation & Training
Ensure all OT implementations follow PGCS global automation standards and approved design frameworks.
Drive consistency in System Platform configuration, deployment models and integration approaches across sites.
Provide technical training and mentoring to site engineering teams to support adoption and sustainment of deployed solutions.
Support development of reusable templates, documentation and best practices for global rollout.
Qualifications
Strong hands‑on experience with AVEVA System Platform, including OMI, InTouch, and InBatch.
AVEVA MES integrations.
Experience using SQL within industrial environments for data management and troubleshooting.
Proven experience delivering OT / automation solutions within manufacturing environments.
Experience managing system integrators and automation vendors.Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles and secure industrial architectures.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science or related discipline.
Typically 5‑10 years’ experience in a similar industrial role.
Experience working within GAMP or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
Strong stakeholder engagement, documentation and communication skills.
Additional Qualifications & Experience
Experience supporting global digital transformation programmes.
Exposure to standardisation of plant models, templates and multi‑site architectures.
Familiarity with lifecycle management and sustainment of OT platforms at scale.
For the purposes of external advertising we have called this role Global Operational Technology Engineer. However please note that the internal job title the successful candidate will be Process Eng Engineer.
