Duration: 12 months
Fully onsite position.
Required:
* Relevant third-level bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, or Environmental Health & Safety
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Environment, Health & Safety, ideally within MedTech or Pharma
* Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legal requirements and best practices
MUST have experience:
* Implementing, maintaining, and sustaining ISO 14001:2015 (ISO 45001 desirable)
* Industrial / Occupational Hygiene programs and risk assessments
* Chemical safety, chemical registers, SDS management, and new chemical introduction HS data management systems and corporate EHS software (e.g., metrics, incident tracking, CAPA)
Description:
The EHS Specialist supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental Health & Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and industry standards. The role acts as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Industrial Hygiene, ISO 14001:2015 implementation, and EHS data management systems, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure a robust and compliant EHS framework.
Key responsibilities:
* Implement, maintain, and sustain the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System with an external vendor
* Act as site SME for Industrial / Occupational Hygiene programs
* Conduct occupational hygiene risk assessments and coordinate exposure monitoring with consultants
* Liaise with Global Health teams on Similar Exposure Groups (SEGs)
* Manage chemical safety processes, including SDS databases and site chemical registers
* Oversee approval and introduction of new chemicals to site
* Manage contractor safety programs and Permit-to-Work processes
* Develop and deliver EHS training (Chemical Awareness, Manual Handling, Induction, Contractor Safety)
* Lead emergency response planning and associated training activities
* Chair bi-monthly EHS Refresh Team meetings and support EHS Management Reviews
* Prepare and submit monthly EHS metrics and reports to Corporate EHS systems (CURVE)
* Perform quarterly audits, walkdowns, and compliance reviews
* Support incident and accident investigations, including CAPA management
* Provide technical support for risk assessments, JSAs, and control measure implementation
* Train users and act as SME for corporate EHS software systems
Key requirements:
* Relevant third-level bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, or Environmental Health & Safety
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Environment, Health & Safety, ideally within MedTech or Pharma
* Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legal requirements and best practices
* Acts as a Manual Handling Instructor, delivering training and guidance in accordance with regulatory and site-specific EHS requirements.
* Performs job functions that are not limited to those listed and may undertake additional duties as assigned.
* Demonstrates strong general and technical EHS knowledge, with relevant experience in the MedTech industry or equivalent regulated environments.
* Communicates clearly and effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
