Moulding Department Senior LeadOur client, a market leader in precision manufacturing for the medical device, life sciences, and industrial sectors, is seeking an experienced and driven Moulding Department Senior Lead to join their expanding operations team.This is a high-impact leadership role, overseeing the daily performance, quality, and strategic direction of the moulding department, while ensuring safety, productivity, and continuous improvement across all levels.The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in injection moulding, paired with a proven ability to manage and inspire teams in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leadership & People ManagementLead, coach, and support a team of moulding technicians and operators across multiple shifts.Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Manage team scheduling, performance reviews, skills development, and succession planning.Lead daily stand-up meetings and production briefings.Production ManagementOversee day-to-day moulding operations to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.Monitor equipment performance (OEE), identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.Coordinate with planning and logistics teams to optimise workflow and resource use.Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring minimal downtime.Quality Assurance & ComplianceEnsure adherence to internal quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines (e.g. ISO Implement and maintain inspection protocols and process controls.Lead investigations into non-conformances and support CAPA implementation.Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the department.Technical ExpertiseTroubleshoot complex moulding or machine-related issues.Optimise moulding parameters for new product introductions and existing production.Support equipment upgrades, tooling changes, and process validations.Maintain up-to-date documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and change records.Health, Safety & EnvironmentEnsure compliance with all company health and safety policies.Promote and maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment.Lead safety briefings, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.Strategic ContributionParticipate in budgeting, resource planning, and equipment investment discussions.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D teams.Support the transfer of new products into production and scaling of existing lines.Job Requirements:Minimum 5+ years of injection moulding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.Degree or relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Plastics, Tooling, or Engineering preferred.Advanced knowledge of moulding processes, materials, tooling, and machine troubleshooting.Familiarity with robotics, automation systems, and modern moulding technologies.Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharma, aerospace, etc.).Strong working knowledge of lean principles, 5S, and process optimisation.Key Skills & Competencies:Team leadership and people developmentOperational excellence and production planningData-driven problem solving and root cause analysisClear and confident communicatorStrong organisational and multitasking abilityTechnical aptitude and process ownershipConflict resolution and decision-making under pressureContinuous improvement mindsetERP/MRP and MS Office proficiencyWhat's on Offer:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceCompany pension scheme with employer contributionsPerformance-related bonusCareer advancement and leadership development programmesTuition support for further educationExposure to cutting-edge moulding, robotics, and automation technologyImmediate interviews available for qualified candidates.Note: By applying for this position, you may also be considered by Pale Blue Dot Recruitment for other or future relevant vacancies.Pale Blue Dot Recruitment - Experts in STEM Workforce Solutions
