Content Editor,, home to the latest in news, sport, entertainment and business news from Ireland and around the world, has a vacancy for an experienced Journalist / Editor for the role of Content Editor.​Key Responsibilities Include:Reporting to the Editor, the Content Editor produces original and engaging content for our audienceEditing content and assigning stories ensuring content meets criteria in terms of style and quality in accordance with standardsSub editing copy, writing punchy, eye-catching headlines – equally adept at covering breaking news stories to entertainment, sport and business news.The role requires an ability to come up with and contribute to layout ideas, combining pictures, video and graphics with inspiring headlines.Delivering vibrant, clean copy to very tight deadlines.​​Essential Skills / ExperienceTo be considered for this role, candidates must have 2 years + experience in a similar role in a newsroom under exacting deadlinesRelevant 3rd level qualification in Journalism.A passion for news and excellent news judgement.Excellent knowledge of libel law in Ireland is a requirementCandidates should be able to demonstrate ability to write engaging headlinesCandidates must also be comfortable working with data sets to help make informed homepage decisions to drive user engagementCandidates must also be able to demonstrate the ability to write engaging social media posts that will drive users to the pageStrong writing, editing, photoshop, word press skills, social media managementGood SEO understandingStrong Communication and people skills​We operate a hybrid working model where part week is worked from home/part office.
