We are seeking to hire an evening porter to work for one of our buildings in the city center. They will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running and security of the college during evening hours.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 5.30pm - 10/10.30pm
Weekends: Weekend work may be expected when there is something on in the building.
Contract Type: Permanent part-time
Person Specification:
* Previous experience working as a caretaker or facilities staff.
* Proven ability to communicate information to staff, students, and the public in an effective and professional manner.
* Excellent interpersonal, spoken, and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer service.
* Basic knowledge of health & safety practices.
* Fluency in English.
* Ability to work independently and be reliable.
* Have a current visa to work in Ireland.
Role:
* First point of contact for staff, students, and visitors to the college.
* Support any scheduled evening events.
* Carry out regular patrols of the college.
* Manage the security of the college ensuring it is locked up before closing.
* Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms for classes, events, or meetings.
* Report any repairs or hazards to management/maintenance.
* Assist in answering queries, provide directions, and any other tasks required.
