Dornan are recruiting CSA Engineers to join our Cork and Dublin offices.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the CSA Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of all Civil, Structural, and Architectural works on the fit-out of construction projects.
The role provides technical assistance, engineering and site support to ensure the project is delivered safely on time, within budget, and to quality standards, fulfilling Dornan's process, vision, mission and values.
This is an important role identified to support the growth of Dornan.

Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture or a related field
3+ years of relevant experience in a construction or engineering environment
Understanding of construction processes, drawings and specifications
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or BIM tools is a plus
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced site environment
Knowledge of health and safety practices in construction
Understanding of site technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
Commercial understanding
Roles and responsibilities
Assist in the review and interpretation of CSA design drawings, specifications, and construction plans
Support the coordination and integration of civil, structural, and architectural systems
Assist in resolving technical issues on-site and liaising with design teams and consultants
Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings as required
Maintain up-to-date documentation including method statements, risk assessments, inspection test plans (ITPs), and daily reports
Prepare progress and snagging reports specific to CSA disciplines
Track material deliveries, site logistics, and status of long-lead items; conduct visual inspections and assist QA/QC teams with inspection reports
Interface with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and execution of CSA scope
Support interface management between CSA and MEP or other disciplines
Ensure sequencing of CSA activities aligns with the overall construction schedule; assist in field inspections
Check compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BS, Eurocode, local building codes)
Participate in toolbox talks and ensure CSA subcontractors comply with site safety protocols
Report unsafe practices, hazards, and near-misses
Maintain red-line mark-ups of drawings and update as-built records
Close out of all project items in a timely manner in line with agreed timelines
Monitor daily CSA site activities and report on progress, risks, and issues
