As a Senior Vision Engineer, you will provide expertise and support to manufacturing processes, leading vision-related continuous improvement updates, obsolescence upgrade projects, and providing vision training for engineering personnel.
This role will be based at our TPM in Fermoy, Cork, and may require occasional travel for training and project implementation.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the implementation of Machine Vision projects (mainly Cognex Insight Spreadsheet environment).
2. Conduct code review/debugging of bespoke vision jobs/algorithms.
3. Investigate issues and develop solutions for Machine Vision applications.
4. Perform characterization, optimization, emulation, and data analysis on proposed Vision jobs.
5. Collaborate with internal functions such as QA, Operations, and Engineering.
6. Standardize best machine vision practices across the site.
7. Lead vision-related obsolescence upgrade projects.
8. Provide vision training for engineering personnel.
You Bring:
1. Degree in Engineering or Science equivalent.
2. Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent is desirable.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in machine vision engineering, preferably in a regulated high-volume automated manufacturing environment.
4. Proven expertise with Cognex Insight hardware/software platform (spreadsheet environment) for at least 5 years.
5. Experience with optics, lighting techniques, troubleshooting/diagnostics, and vision algorithm development, including interfaces to PLC/HMI systems.
6. Extensive knowledge of vision tools such as histograms, edge tools, blob tools, OCR, logic, image processing techniques, and job profiling.
7. Completion of advanced spreadsheet training, Vision Pro, Designer, and Keyence vision systems.
8. Good understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
9. Experience with GDP/GMP/GAMP regulations.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Exceptional attention to detail.
