Job Title: Engineer (Mechanical)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Services Team. The successful candidate will oversee the management and maintenance of mechanical mobile plant, machinery, marine vessels, and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and reviewing of mechanical plant, machinery, marine vessels, and vehicles in civil engineering land and water-based operations
* Compliance with RSA/CVRT regulations and legislation for operating commercial vehicles
* Supervision of mechanical foremen and fitters, as well as contracted-in service providers
* Supporting resolution of breakdown problems outside normal working hours
* Recording of planned and reactive fleet and plant maintenance, adhering to statutory and regulatory obligations
* Development of computerised fleet and plant management/maintenance systems and fleet data analysis
* Specification, tendering, appraisal, and procurement of new mechanical plant, machinery, marine vessels, and vehicles
* Application of the Machinery Directive and meeting statutory compliance obligations regarding fleet, plant, and equipment
* Supporting the reduction of the organisation's carbon footprint
* Upkeep of associated M&E systems on fixed installations
* Assisting with the implementation of delegated responsibilities in the areas of Safety, Health, and Welfare
* Management of Health & Safety for staff and fleet operations
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical engineering and a strong understanding of mechanical plant, machinery, and equipment. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
