Overall purpose of role:
The Graduate Renewables Sales Engineer will support the growth and development of the Group’s renewable energy solutions across the Irish market. This role is designed for a graduate with a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and commercial development who is looking to build a long‑term career combining technical knowledge, customer engagement, and sales.
The role will involve working closely with experienced Business Development Managers, Technical Design teams, Branch Managers, and customers to support renewable project opportunities from initial enquiry through to delivery.
This is a developmental role, and full structured training will be provided.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Support
Support the development and growth of renewable energy sales within the assigned region.
Assist in managing and developing relationships with: Builders, Plumbing & Heating Contractors, M&E Consultants, Housing Bodies, Local Authorities
Proactively identify new business opportunities and support lead generation activities.
Assist senior Business Development Managers in achieving agreed sales and margin targets.
Technical & Project Support
Promote the Group’s renewable energy solutions to customers within the mechanical and building services sector.
Develop a strong technical understanding of renewable systems and products.
Support customers with:
Product selection
Basic system design assistance
Value engineering solutions
Liaise with the Technical Design and Estimation teams to help deliver optimised project solutions.
Assist in preparing quotations, technical submittals, and specifications for projects and consultant engineers.
Customer & Internal Collaboration
Attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry events alongside senior colleagues.
Work closely with Branch Managers to support local renewable opportunities.
Provide high levels of customer service and build trust through professionalism and technical knowledge.
Support internal teams with renewable product and system knowledge as required.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain and update the CRM system with leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
Assist in managing and tracking the project pipeline.
Provide regular updates and reports to management on activity and progress.
Ensure all activities comply with company policies, including Health & Safety procedures.
Training & Development
Participate fully in all training programmes provided.
Continuously develop technical, commercial, and interpersonal skills.
Support the delivery of CPDs, technical seminars, or internal training sessions as experience grows.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Degree or qualification in:
Mechanical Engineering
Energy or Renewable Energy Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and low‑carbon technologies.
Technical or analytical mindset with an interest in understanding systems and products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive, professional, and customer‑focused approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider sales and technical team.
Full clean driving licence.
Work placement or internship experience in:
Technical sales
Construction or building services
Basic knowledge of renewable technologies such as:
Heat pumps
Heating systems
Ventilation or energy‑efficient technologies
Experience presenting or explaining technical concepts.
