Job Title: Senior Speech and Language Therapist – Children's Disability Service

Excel Healthcare is recruiting a Senior Speech and Language Therapist for a Children's Disability Team on the Navan Road and in Cabra. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and established services dedicated to high-quality, child-centred care

Role:
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key leadership role in the assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic support of children with complex developmental needs. You will work closely with families, schools, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver child-centred, evidence-based interventions. You will also support the development and supervision of junior SLTs and students, contributing to the ongoing excellence of the service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for children presenting with communication, speech, language, and/or feeding/swallowing needs.
2. Develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes in partnership with families and caregivers.
3. Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, etc.).
4. Provide training, guidance, and support to families, schools, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
5. Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Family Support Plans (IFSPs).
6. Liaise with community services, preschools, and schools to ensure coordinated service delivery.
7. Maintain high-quality clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
8. Supervise, mentor, and support junior SLTs and students.
9. Contribute to service planning, audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
10. Engage in ongoing CPD and promote best practice within the service.
Qualifications & Experience:
11. Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and active CORU registration.
12. 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in paediatrics or disability services.
13. Demonstrated ability to independently manage a complex paediatric caseload.
14. Strong leadership, supervision, and mentoring skills.
15. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
16. Proven experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
