A new opportunity is available for a Production Operator with a Life Sciences Multinational company based in Blarney, Cork.
The Role: The Production Operator reports to the Production Lead/Production Supervisor. Initially a days-only role, it is expected to become a shift role as demand increases.
The Production Operator is responsible for operating Device Manufacturing equipment efficiently and competently, with attention to safety, quality, documentation, and GMP standards. Responsibilities include monitoring machine performance, adjusting parameters to ensure consistent quality and yield, troubleshooting machinery issues in collaboration with other teams, and mentoring fellow operators.
Key Duties:
1. Handle materials, including movement from warehouse to production, WIP, waste, and packaging of finished products.
2. Support line opening and closing through material control and machine setup.
3. Operate computerized equipment and machinery (e.g., SAP, MES) as per procedures.
4. Support the implementation and adherence to LSPS (Life Science Production System).
5. Assist in qualification of new production lines (FEAS, OQ, PQ).
6. Inspect membranes and devices at various process steps, following sampling and documentation procedures.
7. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and GMP in the work area.
8. Complete documentation accurately, complying with standards and GDP.
9. Maintain 6S principles for high housekeeping standards.
10. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
11. Meet metrics related to EHS, Quality, and FPQs.
12. Support creation and updates of production documentation.
13. Participate in sustainability efforts.
14. Escalate issues to prevent downtime or scrap.
15. Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn.
16. Travel overseas for training may be required.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* Ability to learn multiple processes and mentor others.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of GMP and safety regulations.
* Problem-solving skills and task prioritization.
* Good IT skills (experience with MES, SAP, LIMs advantageous).
* Ability to work independently and effectively in a team.
* Ability to understand and follow procedures.
