In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain a large-scale CI platform consisting of hundreds of CI server instances that serves thousands of developers across the organization. Working alongside senior engineers, you will tackle challenges unique to operating distributed CI infrastructure at enterprise scale, ensuring reliability, performance, and developer productivity. If you enjoy solving engineering problems, collaborating with experienced teammates, and want to grow your expertise in platform engineering, we want to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain large-scale CI infrastructure serving a diverse internal developer community across multiple cloud environmentsBuild automation and tooling to provision, manage, and operate a fleet of CI servers, ensuring consistency, reliability, and efficient resource utilizationDevelop shared libraries, pipeline templates, and reusable components that standardize and streamline CI workflows across teamsCollaborate with platform teams to integrate CI solutions with container orchestration, artifact management, and deployment systemsImplement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure high availability and performance across the CI fleetTroubleshoot complex build and pipeline issues, working closely with development teams to optimize their CI/CD workflowsContribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation to manage cloud resourcesEvaluate emerging CI/CD technologies and contribute to the evolution of our CI platform to meet future needsChampion best practices for CI/CD, security, and compliance across the developer communityMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience3-5 years of hands-on software development experience in Python, Go, Java, or similar languagesExperience building, maintaining, or operating CI/CD systems and pipelinesProficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure), including compute, networking, and storage servicesFamiliarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration with KubernetesExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform or CloudFormationSolid understanding of CI/CD principles, version control (Git), and branching strategiesExperience implementing automated testing strategies (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug distributed systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience operating CI infrastructure at scale, including fleet management, high-availability configurations, and performance tuningExperience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton, or similar toolsExperience with pipeline-as-code and config-as-code patternsFamiliarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or ChefKnowledge of artifact management systems such as Artifactory or NexusAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer) or Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate)Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or DatadogUnderstanding of software supply chain security, including SBOM, vulnerability scanning, and compliance automationExperience evaluating, migrating, or adopting new CI/CD technologies in enterprise environmentsAbility to effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity while applying critical judgment to validate outputs and ensure adherence to security and quality standardsThe Ideal CandidateYou have a solid software engineering foundation and approach infrastructure challenges with a developer mindset, writing clean, testable, and maintainable codeYou have experience working with distributed systems or platform infrastructure, and are eager to deepen your expertise in fleet management, reliability, and performance at scaleYou are comfortable working in cloud environments and can contribute to solutions that leverage cloud-native services effectivelyYou thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with senior engineers to learn best practices while also partnering with development teams to understand their needsYou are curious and eager to learn, staying current with evolving CI/CD practices and emerging technologiesYou have strong communication skills and can effectively document solutions and share knowledge with peersYou take ownership of your work, proactively seeking guidance on complex or unfamiliar situations while driving day-to-day tasks independently*Learn MoreAbout Autodesk*Welcome to Autodesk Amazing things are created every day with our software – from the greenest buildings and cleanest cars to the smartest factories and biggest hit movies.
