Primtac Personnel are currently recruiting a Transport Supervisor
to join a valued client and assist in its growing operations in Galway. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced distribution environment, playing an important part in supporting the continued growth of the organisation while ensuring excellent service delivery and operational efficiency.
The Transport Supervisor is central to the day-to-day running of the depot and will work closely with drivers and management to ensure routes are dispatched efficiently, safely, and in line with customer expectations.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES
* Ensure the timely and orderly dispatch of all delivery routes across assigned locations
* Monitor daily driver schedules using transport technology and report on performance, route efficiency, and delivery times
* Analyse driver performance through route accompaniment, providing coaching and feedback where required
* Coach, motivate, and manage delivery teams in line with performance and absence management processes
* Identify trends in performance or absence, addressing concerns through coaching or formal disciplinary procedures when necessary
* Minimise equipment breakdowns by ensuring issues are reported promptly and referred to vehicle maintenance
* Complete and submit accident and injury reports in line with internal procedures and timelines
* Ensure damages and delivery shortages are minimised through correct loading and delivery practices
* Identify, coordinate, and support driver training and development requirements
* Ensure company vehicles are maintained, cleaned, and operated safely to reduce risk and protect brand standards
* Lead by example, applying company policies and procedures in a fair, consistent, and unbiased manner
IDEAL CANDIDATE
* 3–5 years' management or supervisory experience in a high-volume, time-sensitive, technology-driven distribution or transport environment
* Strong IT skills, with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Good working knowledge of Department of Transport regulations, including Tachograph legislation and the Working Time Directive
* Experience participating in investigations and disciplinary processes relating to incidents, absence, or performance
* Proven ability to motivate and manage teams to deliver a high-quality service
* Strong planning and organisational skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and effectiveness
* Ability to analyse, interpret, and present operational and performance data
* Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, customer-focused environment
