About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join a global procurement function supporting strategic sourcing and supplier management across key industrial categories.
This role is focused on driving cost optimisation, supplier performance, and long-term category strategy across a global supply base.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver measurable savings, strengthen supply chain resilience, and ensure best-in-class sourcing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse direct material spend to identify cost optimisation opportunities and improve total cost of ownership (TCO)
Develop and manage RFQs, supplier benchmarking, and sourcing events
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, lead time, and reliability
Lead commercial negotiations and secure favourable pricing and contract terms
Develop and implement category sourcing strategies, including long-term supplier and risk mitigation plans
Manage supplier relationships and support supplier performance improvements
Deliver against category savings targets across regional and global scope
Maintain sourcing databases, contracts, and supplier documentation
Collaborate with global procurement and operations teams on strategic initiatives
Lead additional sourcing and procurement projects as business needs arise
Requirements
Proven experience in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
Strong negotiation and contract management experience
Experience managing RFQs and supplier selection processes
Ability to analyse spend data and identify cost-saving opportunities
Strategic thinker with experience building category strategies
Strong understanding of supplier relationship management
Experience working with procurement/sourcing systems and data tools
Ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment
Desirable Experience
Exposure to industrial/mechanical components such as compressors, pumps, coils, fans, or heat exchangers
Understanding of global supply markets and economic trends affecting sourcing decisions
Experience in supply chain risk management
