Excellence in patient care is paramount in our Theatre Department. We seek a skilled professional to lead and oversee the effective supervision of resources and a well-educated, motivated team of carers.
Responsibilities
* To provide a safe working environment for all staff by adhering to safety codes and procedures, as well as infection control policies.
* To work closely with multi-disciplinary teams within the hospital to improve processes and practices and identify areas for quality improvement in maintaining JCI Accreditation and HIQA standards.
* To liaise with hospital support services to maintain required levels of hygiene and complete audits.
* To monitor and respond to staffing levels according to patient dependency and activity on the ward.
* To ensure duty rosters and annual leave arrangements are made in line with hospital protocol and patient care.
* From time to time, to carry out duties when allocated on an equitable and fair basis as deemed appropriate by senior management.
* To be aware of risks to patients and staff and follow correct hospital procedure for reporting and documenting incidents, while being fully aware of legal requirements and implications.
* To perform tasks and duties in compliance with relevant regulations, including directives 93/42/EC and 98/79/EC, where applicable.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Registration with the relevant Nursing Board.
* Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience with at least two years managerial/supervisory experience.
* Minimum 3 years Theatre experience.
* Experience in Orthopedics desirable.
Key Requirements
* 37.5 hours core working attendance per week.
* Flexibility to attend meetings and travel for business purposes within the Group and externally.
