Machine Control Engineer Job Description
This role involves installing, maintaining and troubleshooting machine control systems on heavy equipment. The Machine Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of these systems, which is critical to achieving high productivity and precision on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation: Install machine control systems on heavy equipment, including accurately measuring and calibrating the systems.
* Service: Provide maintenance, repair and troubleshooting services for machine control systems, ensuring that they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
* Measure & Calibration / Advisory / Consultation: Perform calibration and re-calibration of machine control equipment as part of the installation or support process.
* Operations: Support the Machine Control Installation, Calibration and Support Team Leader to effectively deliver customer requirements with installations and planning of operations.
* Training & Development: Provide operator training to end-users on system use and operation, ensuring they understand how to get the best out of the technology.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* College or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulics or Electronic engineering, or similar field.
* Recent experience in troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy equipment machines.
* Familiarity with construction site operations using machine control systems is desirable.
* Basic understanding of using a PC, Microsoft Office applications, and handheld devices.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
