About UsThe Shearwater Hotel and Spa is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Conference and Banqueting Assistant to join our dynamic and friendly team.Benefits:Free on-site parkingComplimentary team member mealsDiscounted rates at Comer Group Ireland managed hotelsDiscounted rates at Comer Group Ireland managed Spa and Leisure FacilitiesDiscounted rates at Comer Group Ireland restaurantsOur successful Conference and Banqueting Assistant will be responsible for:Maintain responsibility for the Restaurant, Bar, Events and areas of work relating to food and beverageEnsure all customer and guest expectations are exceededCarrying out day to day duties such as cleaning, organising and maintaining all food and beverage areas, ensuring the property is presentable at all timesEngage in teamworkDemonstrate initiative and work towards continuous improvementDemonstrate a complete knowledge of menu itemsDemonstrate a complete knowledge of wine and beverage list, including cocktails and promote the use of suggestive sell to guestsEnsure guest complaints are consistently resolved in a prompt and efficient manner and brought to the attention of the manager on dutyWork to maximise guest service and increase positive feedbackWork with management to ensure the food and beverage areas are well maintainedEnsure compliance with all established standards, policies and procedures across all operations relevant to the roleEnsure all transactions are completed through the POS systems correctlyPractice effective stock control in accordance with set guidelines - date rotation of stockEnsure all operational checklists for the bar are completed on an hourly, daily or weekly basis as set out by managementEnsure any customer query is dealt with and forwarded to all relevant parties where requiredMaintain immaculate presentation and grooming, wearing designated uniform/business attire and name badge at all timesCarrying out duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or other members of the management teamRequired Education Skills and Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have previous experience in hospitalityAbility to work on own initiative, as well as being capable of working as part of a teamA warm, friendly and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guestsKnowledge of Hot-soft 8 an advantageDue to a large volume of applications for this role, only successful candidates will be contacted.
