We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to join Brown & Brown Ireland, ensuring all general insurance activities fully comply with regulatory, legislative, and EU directives while upholding professional standards and best business practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain an up to date legal & regulatory rules file.
* Create & deliver the annual compliance plan.
* Maintain a robust compliance and risk management framework for personal and commercial lines of business.
* Undertake compliance monitoring activities including the review of customer files and associated documents, and terms of business agreements with Insurers and suppliers e.g. insurers.
* Provide support, advice, and training to all Brown & Brown Ireland teammates to strengthen their risk & compliance awareness.
* Provide assistance and expertise as required to other functions including Finance and HR.
* Ensure all compliance principles, policies and procedures are clearly defined and regulatory developments are proactively appraised and communicated.
* Engage with and respond in a timely manner to any errors and complaints raised by our customers and/or the Financial Services Ombudsman.
* Act as both Money Laundering Officer and Data Protection Officer for the Organisation.
* Provide support, guidance and advice on compliance matters in mergers, acquisitions, strategic growth and development plans.
Desired Skills And Attributes
* Professional qualification in compliance, risk management and/or legal fields.
* Previous experience of compliance with exposure to risk management in a regulated / authorised financial services environment.
* Knowledge of the general insurance sector (personal and/or commercial lines preferred).
* Familiar with compliance and regulatory requirements for the general insurance sector.
* Computer literacy and good knowledge of compliance and risk management software.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance.
