Windmill Lane Pictures, an iconic international creative documentary/factual film producer, is entering an exciting new chapter following its recent acquisition. As we continue to invest in talent, innovation, and growth, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Commercial Director/Head of Partnerships to lead revenue growth and drive key partnerships across the international film, streaming, television, advertising, and creative sectors.
This is a senior leadership role that will work in close collaboration with the Head of Content, Leadership Team, and the Chair of Windmill Lane Pictures, shaping the company’s commercial engagement and relationships across international markets.

Established in 1978, Windmill Lane Pictures became a globally recognised creative studio headquartered in Dublin and working across the international film and music industries. Built on storytelling and innovation, with a rich history in creative production. Following its recent acquisition and repositioning as an international documentary/factual filmmaker, Windmill Lane is now entering a phase of exciting and ambitious expansion. Operating across Dublin, London, and New York, led by a talented senior team driving international growth.
Key Responsibilities
As Commercial Director/Head of Partnerships, you will lead Windmill Lane’s commercial and growth strategy, ensuring sustainable revenue generation and long-term value creation, engaging with partners, patrons, and investors. You will:
* Own and execute the commercial strategy: Define, implement, and continuously optimise Windmill’s commercial roadmap in alignment with company-wide goals.
* P&L and revenue responsibility: Work with finance and executive leadership to set and manage revenue targets, commercial KPIs, and profit margins.
* Strategic partnership development: Identify, negotiate, and grow partnerships with broadcasters, streamers, studios, agencies, brands, and tech partners.
* International growth: Explore and expand commercial opportunities in the UK, US, and global markets, building Windmill Lane’s international client base and presence.
* New business development: Lead efforts to open new revenue streams through licensing, co-productions, branded content, IP collaborations, and innovation-led services.
* Service packaging: Shape and refine Windmill Lane’s commercial offering, ensuring services are well-positioned, clearly packaged, and competitive.
* Stakeholder management: Build strong, lasting relationships with clients, collaborators, funders, and external producers to maximise creative and commercial value.
* Internal collaboration and leadership: Work closely with creative leads, producers, and operational teams to align project execution with commercial goals. Influence cross-functional teams and support a commercially aware culture.
* Reporting and CRM: Oversee pipeline management, performance tracking, and forecasting using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot), delivering regular reporting to the executive team.
* Industry insight: Monitor trends across media, production, funding, and tech to identify new opportunities and future-proof the business.
Ideal Candidate
We’re seeking a dynamic and commercially driven leader who combines strategic thinking, relationship-building, and creative sector fluency.
* Experience: 5+ years in a senior commercial, partnerships, or business development role, ideally within media, post-production, entertainment, advertising, or creative services.
* Track record: A proven history of delivering growth, building strategic partnerships, and managing revenue portfolios or P&L.
* Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of service-based business models, ideally with experience in creative production/post/VFX/audio or content development.
* Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills with confidence in managing high-value client relationships and senior stakeholder engagement.
* Network: A strong network across production, media, brand, agency, or tech environments.
* International experience: Experience with international deal-making or global expansion (preferred).
* Data and tools: Skilled in using CRM platforms and applying data to drive decision-making.
* Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for creativity, storytelling, and innovation.
